The Artist
Although a native Southern Californian, Shirley Gipson’s Texas roots are deep. Central Texas, where she has spent most of her adulthood, is the location where her ability as an artist first manifested itself.
Now, a full-time artist, she works out of her studio in Round Rock, Texas in her preferred medium – oil. Seizing a moment in time, an event or triggering a memory through her art is her ultimate goal. She composes her pieces to capture the insightful beauty of objects through simplicity and hopes the objects selected will be a reminder of past times when life was humbler and less chaotic. Influenced by many masters of art, she continues to strive for excellence seeking educational opportunities that will advance her knowledge in the style she loves – traditional realism.
